Además, Fisher es arqueóloga y profesora en una escuela de primaria, además de enseñar Escritura creativa para niños en la Universidad de Glamorgan.
Fisher ha ganado premios como el Welsh Arts Council o el Cardiff de poesía.
Su serie de novelas iniciada por "Incarceron" será adaptada en varias películas producidas por la compañía FOX.
