cercar a otra Katherine, concretamente a una escritora estadounidense, autora entre otras obras de "El Ocho"; nos estamos refiriendo a Katherine Neville, que como la autora de la obra de nuestra próxima lectura, "Los ojos amarillos de los cocodrilos", Katherine Pancol, su obra es considerada éxito de ventas mundial.

Ha sido vicepresidenta del Banco de América y asesora técnica de empresas públicas y privadas (entre ellas IBM, la Bolsa de Nueva York y Deutsche Bundesbank). También ha sido fotógrafa comercial y modelo. Ha vivido en más de seis países diferentes y ha dado conferencias por todo el mundo, pero sobre todo en su Estados Unidos natal, en medios tan importantes como Publishers Weekly o Voice of America.

it's mainly about the NYC-computerexpert Cath Velis and her friend, chess player Lily Rad, who are trying to find the pieces of a legendary chess service that can provide the one who can figure out the secret formula, the power over the world. This is set in 1973 and Cath & Lily travel to Algeria to find the pieces (hence the desert picture).
The other side of the story is that of the young French woman Mireille, who lives in France of 1793 (the pictures of Paris, 'the death of Marat', Robespierre and Napoleon). She is the one who is set up with the task of protecting and dividing the chess pieces over the world.
Still haven't got a CLUE what's it about? I'd say you search for an summary on the internet or just read the book (I highly recommand it!) Oh, and the eye on the end belongs to Jennifer Connely, the actress I pictured for the role of Cath.
